Executive Function Skills for Pre-Teens and Teens

During the summer, In-Tune offers an intensive with a focus on regulation, executive function skills and activities of daily living (ADLs).

This intensive is led by Neal Drew, OTD, OTR/L. Neal has 16 years of experience working with a pre-adolescent and adolescent population in the home, community and school settings. Neal’s expertise lies in developing a therapeutic relationship around challenging skills and experiences a young person may encounter, in order to support long-term growth.

This intensive is ideal for a population of pre-adolescent and adolescent individuals who are working on developing skills in these areas:

  • Building tolerance and flexibility around feeding, dressing and hygiene skills

  • Managing personal belongings in the home 

  • Self-organization during transition times

  • Accessing self-regulation strategies that are appropriate to the home setting

  • Building healthy habits related to technology usage 

  • Planning and sequencing skills related to academic work

This intensive will include an in-person session (1 hour/wk), a remote/Zoom session (1 hour/wk), and recommendations for carryover in the week related to regulation, executive function skills, and activities of daily living (ADL’s). This program is intended to support carryover of skills into the school year.
